Studio Protocols, Guidelines & Long-Term Care

Pain levels vary depending on individual tolerance and placement on the body. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratch or a focused buzz on the skin. Bones and sensitive nerve endings (e.g., ribs, inner biceps, spine) hurt more than fleshy areas (e.g., outer arm, thighs). Once the session ends, discomfort subsides quickly into a mild sunburn feeling.

Pricing depends on size, placement complexity, detail level, and estimated studio hours. Small flash pieces have fixed pricing, while large custom sessions (sleeves, backpieces) operate on hourly or full-day rates. Deposits are required to secure your date and cover prep time for your custom artwork.

Bring reference images, themes, or rough ideas to your consultation. We will tailor a one-of-a-kind design built specifically around your body anatomy. You will review and finalize the stencil together on the day of your appointment to ensure optimal flow and scale.

Safety is uncompromised. We utilize 100% single-use, pre-sterilized needle cartridges, single-use ink caps, and medical-grade barrier film. Every needle cartridge is opened directly in front of you and safely discarded in hazardous bio-waste bins immediately after completion.

Tattoos heal year-round, but late autumn, winter, and early spring are ideal. During cooler months, your skin experiences minimal exposure to strong UV rays, heavy sweating, pool chlorine, and ocean saltwater during the critical 2–3 week healing window.

No. Your body requires an optimal immune response to heal fresh ink. If you are sick, experiencing fever, or fighting off a bug, please contact us to reschedule. We also advise against tattooing during pregnancy or nursing out of an abundance of caution for immune stress.

Ink settles beneath the dermal layer. As skin regenerates over the years, lines naturally soften and settle. Solid blackwork and bold line-weights age exceptionally well. Applying SPF 50+ sunscreen daily once healed prevents ink breakdown and keeps contrast sharp.

01

Initial Protection

Leave protective wrap on for the duration specified by your artist (2–4 hours for standard cling film; 3–5 days for medical second-skin film). Never re-wrap a tattoo once removed.

02

First Cleanse

Wash gently with lukewarm water and mild, unscented antibacterial soap. Clean off residual plasma and ink with clean fingertips only. Pat dry thoroughly with a fresh paper towel.

03

Moisturizing

Apply a paper-thin layer of specialized tattoo balm or fragrance-free lotion twice daily. Less is more — over-saturating skin clogs pores and ruins crisp line work.

04

Flaking Phase

Around days 4–7, your tattoo will flake like a sunburn. Expect mild itching. Let peeling skin fall off naturally; pulling scabs removes ink pigment from the dermis.
